Program Information
The novice program is an introduction into the swim club environment (pre-competitive). Swimmers will learn the basic fundamentals of the four strokes: freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, and butterfly. Emphasis on developing proper technique and stamina.
Novice meets 1 hour per week.
An assessment is required to enter this group. Swimmers must be able to demonstrate their competency in the water, including their ability to complete one length of the pool unassisted.
Swimmers in the Novice program are eligible to swim in one sanctioned swim competition per swim season. They are also eligible and encouraged to participate in local unsanctioned swim meets (such as our 'mini meet').
Continued focus on freestyle and backstroke, with increased work on breaststroke and butterfly (concentrating on kick and timing). Starts on blocks, and faster turns.
Bronze meets a minimum of 1.5 hours per week (two 45 minute sessions), with the option to increase to 2.25 hours per week (three 45 minute sessions).
Swimmers in the Bronze program are eligible to swim in any sanctioned swim competitions. They are expected to participate in our local unsanctioned mini meet, and are encouraged to participate in our local sanctioned "Spring Fun" swim meet.
This program continues to improve endurance and stroke technique across all four competitive strokes: freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke and butterfly. Emphasis on advanced drills, conditioning, and competitive fundamental skills such as efficient starts, powerful turns, and underwater phases.
Silver meets a minimum of 3 hours per week with the option to increase to up to 7 hours per week.
Swimmers in the Silver program are eligible to swim in any sanctioned swim competitions. They are expected to participate in our local unsanctioned mini meet, our sanctioned "Spring Fun" swim meet, and are encouraged to participate in at least one sanctioned out-of-town swim meet.
This program emphasizes comprehensive training that combines high-volume swim workouts and mental discipline to improve performance. Key components include refining stroke technique for all four competitive strokes, enhancing starts and turns, developing both endurance and speed through interval training, and adhering to a strategic annual training plan to achieve performance benchmarks and competitive goals.
Gold meets a minimum 4 hours per week with the option to increase to up to 9.25 hours per week.
Swimmers in the Gold program are eligible to swim in any sanctioned swim competitions. They are expected to participate in our local unsanctioned mini meet, our sanctioned "Spring Fun" swim meet, and in at least one sanctioned out-of-town swim meet.
